The proof is in the pictures!

My oldest daughter told me her goal was to turn her den from a room she just walks through to get from one side of the house to the other - into a room she could really enjoy.

Here are two photos that show what the den looked like before. It was cute! But it could be even better with a few tweaks. And it was important to me to utilize as many things she already had as possible to keep the price down.

So, with a little elbow grease and a whole lot of spray paint - we got to work. The black entertainment center you see - we spray painted white. The room divider behind that entertainment center we spray painted blue. We kept the couch, changed the pictures, and bought a few very inexpensive knick-knacks. The only real purchase I made was a white rug, which cost $40. The end result is pretty remarkable.

And there you have it! What a bright, beautiful room it is now! She tells me she loves it and actually wants to spend time in the room. That's my goal. Changing a space at a low cost, with just hard work - and creativity.
